Quote-to-Order Acceleration

Move from customer request to ready-to-run order with less rework.

Connect the information, decisions, and handoffs behind quoting and order release. Layer One helps sales, engineering, and operations establish a clearer process supported by the right tools.

Illustrative engagement concept; scope is agreed with your team.
The problem

The delay often lives between the steps.

Incomplete requirements create follow-up questions. Pricing waits for approval. Accepted quotes need to be reinterpreted before release. We trace those transitions and improve the information and ownership needed at each one.

This may be your starting point if…

  • Quotes repeatedly return for clarification.
  • Approvals and exceptions live in inboxes.
  • Accepted quotes require manual re-entry or review before becoming orders.
What's included

What we work toward together

Scope is agreed around your priorities, systems, and team. The engagement can include:

A current-state handoff map and baseline of delays and rework.

Agreed intake requirements, approval rules, and exception routes.

A scoped workflow pilot with the required system connections.

Team guidance and a measurement plan for response time, completeness, and release readiness.

How it works

How the engagement works

Layer One combines manufacturing and distribution experience with assessments, advisory services, engineering, training, and ongoing improvement. We build on existing systems and proven capabilities, including Commergenix where it fits the work. Your team helps shape the approach and owns the decisions that affect the business.

FAQ

Questions before you begin

Does this require Quote IQ or OrderFlow?

They may support the solution where appropriate. We first assess your current process and systems.

Does automation mean every quote is approved automatically?

No. Approval authority and exception handling remain explicit. The design identifies where a person must review or decide.

How do we agree the scope and commitment?

We begin with a conversation about the problem, the people involved, and the information available. We then agree deliverables, responsibilities, timing, and commercial terms. The work can be scoped independently or within an ongoing Layer One partnership.
