HARDI reports that its distributor members saw revenue rise 7.6% in August 2026. Days sales outstanding came in at less than 37 days, about the same as July.
“The 7.6% gain this month was helped by warmer than normal temps against below normal temps in most regions last August,” said Brian Loftus, Senior Market Analyst at HARDI. He added, “That is a more encouraging headline than the increasing inflation and interest rates.”
Weather-driven gains can arrive quickly, and they show where a business relies on individual effort to keep up. A busy month tends to expose the same problems: requests waiting between departments, information checked in several places, and customers waiting while employees search for answers.
Actionable takeaway: look at what slowed your team down during the last busy stretch while it is still fresh. Layer One's Organizational Friction Assessment is one structured way to find where work gets stuck and which fixes to make first.
