Brody Buss
President
You’ve heard the story before. Man meets computer. Computer introduces Man to the Internet. Man learns to program and a business is born. But there is something different in the vision that Brody has for Layer One Media, something that’s kept it growing strong for almost a decade and sets it apart from the vast sea of Web agencies.
Brody intuitively recognizes a solid business idea. His progressive thinking and a pragmatic mind-set is what his clients rely on. They trust that every move by Layer One Media is related to the business objective, and they are. Brody unearths surprising opportunities for growth and efficiencies for a company’s total business.
His vision is what gives each project a firm foundation of usability, search optimization and conversion focus to build upon. Ensuring everything that leaves our desktops helps advance our clients business and allows them to evolve online.
His technique? Well we can’t go giving away company secrets, but his ideas, visions, and demands all stem from his experience and his aptitude for Web innovation. He believes that the Web is the center point of a business’ potential that is inexhaustible. He envisions it changing shape, but never diminishing.

Ryan Janecek
Director of Business Development
With a long history managing large accounts of multi-million dollar technology corporations as well as technical and solution-orientated sales, Ryan is anything but a Politician. But in a way, he’s the elected official for our clients. He’s their representative to our congress. Without all the red tape, scandals and bad press that is.
Keeping each client’s best interests at heart he oversees accounts and projects, ensuring that each solution we provide builds upon the last. He puts focus on offering a systemic, holistic approach to new business development with key clients.
Ryan gets people. And, since business is all about people, Ryan gets business, especially ours. He draws people in with his charisma, humor, and his pan flute (yes, he has one and no, he’s not afraid to use it) – he’s helped us win and maintain some of our key clients including Kohler Company and Marcus Theatres. It’s also in Ryan’s jurisdiction to hire like minded sales representatives and train them in his methods. He charges extra for the flute lessons though.

Bill O’Neil
Creative Director
Whether he’s designing skateboard decks, painting or reviewing a website comp Bill takes a fully-immersed, focused approach to everything he sets his eyes on. With over a decade of creative direction experience he’s found the perfect blend of technology, business and art and mastered molding them into a strong Web presence.
As Layer One Media’s Creative Director, Bill directs our design team on just that - fusing creative work with strategic input. While wrangling a team of unique designers who think outside the box can be a challenge – Bill’s intense focus and innovative visions keep the team and process here streamlined with his creative vision. When that fails – bribing them with a decent cup of joe usually does the trick.
Bill is also no stranger to challenging projects with wide-reaching scope and application. He’s had experience working with brands from Miller Brewing Co. to Harley-Davidson. His ambitious approach is usually the best one: he believes in big thinking and bold innovation.

James Graf
Director of Project Management
Combining experience, instinct and catlike reflexes, Project Management Director James Graf knows what it takes to keep a production staff running like a well-oiled machine. A background in systems engineering and 20 years as a project manager has given him a unique aptitude for working with programmers. In other words if geek has an official language – he speaks it.
Jim understands the inner workings of complex projects and the resources and skill it takes to complete them successfully, within budget and on time. But it doesn’t end there. Jim not only has technical acumen, but – maybe more importantly – he also has an intuition for cultivating a company’s culture. He strives to maintain a rewarding, positive work environment. Jim understands and balances the needs of programmers while still hitting the mark on each project he manages. He truly is a rare mix – offering both the savvy to keep clients happy and the insight to keep employees fulfilled.
